“The hardest part is getting started.” – Probably a Coldplay lyric
Uhm… Hi? My name is Nena. Me llamo Nena. And this is my first blog post. Please, hold your applause. If I would’ve started this back when I first moved to Knoxville, I would be a MILLIONAIRE by now. Ok, maybe that’s going a bit too far. However, there would’ve been a lot of awesome content/how-to’s/listicles/etc. to peruse through while you sip on your cold-brew coffee in that trendy coffee shop that got a thumbs up from Alton Brown. But I digress, here I am. It’s 2015 and I’m just beginning to figure out WordPress. But you’re never too old to start something new, right? Let’s see if I can insert a cheesy graphic right about here…
So, here I go.
I live in Knoxville, TN.
I moved here in the summer of 2012 from a small town not too far away in East Tennessee where I attended college. As much fun as I had in that little city (and trust me, I had A LOT of fun), I was ready for a change. As fate would have it, an exciting job opportunity presented itself and lead me to the Scruffy City. I had only ever been to Knoxville for UT football games and various concerts (anyone remember Sundown in the City?!) so I was excited to see what else K-town had to offer a twentysomething gal like myself.
I quickly fell in love with the people, the local businesses, the entertainment, and of course the culinary scene. My social media activity started looking more like Knoxville’s Visitor Guide than other regular slice of life accounts and my most used hashtags were #knoxlove and #knoxlife. The idea to blog about my adventures and experiences here popped in and out of my head for a long time. The ‘What Ifs’ kept me from starting it… until now.
So, again, here I go.
I hope I can bring something to you that is sometimes informative but mainly fun and entertaining.
If you’re still reading this, thank you. I can’t wait to see where this thing goes. I hope you’ll follow along and be a part of my weird journey while I explore everything Knoxville (and the rest of the crazy world) has to offer.
Cheers,
knoxknena
